DOLPHINS FACTS
• Sea World is home to over thirty Bottlenose dolphins
• Dolphins are a toothed whale and eat their food whole and head-first
• Sea World is home to several generations of dolphins and has a very successful breeding program
• The dolphins are amazing animals and use echolocation to determine the size, shape, density and speed of objects around them - this is a skill they use to hunt for food and avoid obstacles
• Sea World's dolphin trainers give the dolphins toys like balls and hulla hoops to play with
• The trainers also place fish and treats inside puzzle balls so the dolphins have to learn how to get the food out - these puzzles help to stimulate the dolphins.

POLAR BEARS FACTS

• Twin bears Hudson and Nelson were orphaned in Canada and came to Sea World in 2001 and Lia came to Sea World from Russia

• Shark Bay has three areas - touch pools, tropical reef lagoon and the shark lagoon - which represent the ocean's intertidal zone, reefs and open water
• Sharks are the ocean's top predator and help keep fish and marine mammal populations balanced and healthy
